Ragan

Advisor/Past President

Ragan is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker and Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Wichita State University. She also has a Master’s in Education from Newman University. She has her Trauma-Focused CBT Certification. She is working towards her certification to become a Certified Sex Therapist through AASECT and has received EMDR Training through an EMDRIA approved provider and am working towards becoming a Certified EMDR Therapist. She also provides training for mental health clinicians and supervision for those seeking licensure as a LSCSW in the state of Kansas and nationally as a Registered Play Therapist.
Ragan has been a social worker for 20 years and worked in foster care, adoptions, drug and alcohol counseling, school social work, medical and psychiatric social work, and is currently in private practice.

Kylee

President Elect
Kylee is a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist and Registered Play
Therapist Supervisor, graduating from Friends University in Wichita, KS, with a master’s
degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Previously, she attended Wichita State
University and received her bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology. She is
currently pursuing her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, with a specialization in
Counseling.
Kylee currently is the Director of the Learn and Play Therapeutic Center in Hutchinson,
KS, serving 3–5-year-old children who have faced early adversity. She also co-owns a
private practice in Wichita, KS and clinically treats clients of all ages, while also being a
faculty member at Friends University with the Marriage and Family Therapy program.
Kylee is certified in Parent Child Interaction Therapy, is a trained facilitator in Couples’
Communication, Prepare & Enrich, and is Level II Gottman certified to help those
struggling in their personal relationships. She also strives to help children and families
connect more deeply throughout her work. More specifically, Kylee is certified in Pre-
Natal, Infant, and Toddler Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-up, able to treat children
and families as early as in-utero.
Kylee is beyond excited to serve on the board and cannot wait to see what this journey
has in store for the organization, newly elected board, herself, and her certified service
dog, Rory, who helps her complete her work!

Andie

Secretary & Membership
Liz is a licensed clinical social worker and a registered play therapist, who works with ages 4 to adults. She utilizes play therapy, sand tray and has completed Level 1 of Theraplay. Her favorite populations to work with are clients with selective mutism and LGBTQIA+ clients. She also enjoys providing clinical supervision.
Liz has previously been on the board to fill a position that became vacant, and is excited to be back for a full board term! Outside of work she enjoys dancing (tap and ballet), being on stage, reading, spending time with her cats and laughing. Her current volunteer work includes being a reading buddy at an elementary school. being on the board of The Music Theatre Wichita Guild, and working with kids at her amazing, LGBTQIA+ affirming church.

Amy

Amy, is a Licensed Clinical Marriage & Family Therapist, Clinical Board Supervisor, and a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. Amy received her Bachelor's of Psychology / Human Services from Friends University 1996, and her Masters of Marriage & Family Therapy from Friends in 1998.

Amy began in the field with DCCCA Family Preservation services in 1996, continuing with at-risk youth, foster care, and community service until transitioning into private practice in 2001.

Amy received additional training in Sexual and Physical Abuse, TF-CBT, EMDR, Autism and Sensory Processing Disorders, Grief management, Divorce/ Blended Family Dynamics, Anxiety and Depression, Self Regulation, Attachment-Focused EMDR, Complex PTSD, and practices with acceptance and incorporates a faith based viewpoint on healing and recovery. Amy desires to increase knowledge and access to developmental education and play interventions.

Nominations
Renae Latimer is a clinically licensed professional counselor in Kansas and Missouri. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Washburn University in 2008 and her Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology from Avila University in 2012. While at Avila University, she completed additional coursework and obtained her Child and Adolescent Certificate. Additionally, in 2018, she received a certificate in Play Therapy from MidAmerica Nazarene University and have now earned status as a Registered Play Therapist. She is certified in Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) and is a board approved supervisor in Kansas and Missouri. She currently works in private practice with children, adolescents and parents. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, exercising and traveling.
Katina "Andie” Mitchell, LCSW, LSCSW, RPT, is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker with a diverse background in clinical practice and education. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from NC State University (2013) and a Master of Social Work with a specialization in military communities from the University of South Carolina (2016). In 2019, Andie further enhanced her credentials by obtaining her Registered Play Therapist (RPT) certification and is actively working on the RPT Supervisor designation.
Andie's clinical expertise spans across various domains, including child and family therapy, military mental health, and parenting support. Her professional experience encompasses work in child welfare, domestic violence intervention, community clinics, and military hospital settings. She is particularly adept at addressing parenting anxieties and strengthening caregiver-child relationships through evidence-based interventions, including play therapy. Andie is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, further broadening her therapeutic toolkit.
In addition to her direct clinical work, Andie is committed to advancing the field of mental health by providing clinical supervision to social workers in Kansas and offering continuing education to mental health providers through Sand Dollar Learning Systems. Her focus on practitioner development extends to mentoring therapists in private practice management and growth strategies.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Andie enjoys traveling and spending time with her two corgis, Da Vinci and Duncan.
Kayla is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker and a Registered Play Therapist in the State of Kansas. After finding her passion through working with children and families in the community with mental health needs, she completed her master’s degree in Social Work through the University of Kansas.
Kayla completed her practicum with early intervention work for children under the age of three with the local school district, followed by her clinical practicum in an inpatient psychiatric hospital setting. She has received a certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorder through Bowling Green State University after completing a certificate in Play Therapy through Mid-America Nazarene University in Olathe, KS. She has worked with children and families in multiple settings, including inpatient care, school-based, integrated health, and outpatient therapy settings.
Kayla is well equipped to serve those who have experienced a variety of challenges including: trauma, grief and loss, parental separate or divorce, blended families. She is able to work with those who are unable to verbally process through their experiences or sensory disorders by helping them find their voice through play therapy techniques. Her experience includes individual, family, and group therapies for children, adolescents, and families.
Mission Focus

The mission of The Kansas Association for Play Therapy is to promote, encourage, and educate others in the use of Play Therapy techniques to effectively treat mental health issues in people of all ages. The board holds the responsibility to facilitate and carry out this mission and to provide the members with the best opportunities to fulfill the objectives of this mission. We want to create and maintain a positive, encouraging and competent professional community for the members to enhance awareness, education, and sustainability of Play Therapy as a viable mental health modality to help children, families, and adults.
